1. Resizing an A4 slide.
People who use Powerpoint for print will often make their presentations in A4 page size, which gives it a sort of ‘widescreen’ effect when displayed on a 4:3 or 16:9 screen. You could just change the page setup to 4:3, but this will move everything around and cause lots of tedious re-formatting. Reduce this by using a custom size.
03: [File/Page Setup/Page Size]. Click the down arrow next to “Slides Sized For” and select “custom”. The width will now read 27.51 and the height 19.05. Why did Microsoft choose these dimensions? Only they know. Leave the width alone but change the height to 20.63, and after several “OK”s you will now have a slide the right shape.
07/10: [Design/Page Setup] then follow the same procedure as for 2003. You’ll notice there are a couple more size options for “On-Screen Show”. Ignore these.
Now carefully check through the whole presentation in case anything’s gone bananas! Pictures will be slightly tall, text may have spilled over onto a new line - that sort of thing.
