2. Embedding fonts.
If you're using a font that isn't standard Windows, send it with the presentation like this;
2000: [File/Save As], then in the 'save as' box click [Tools], then [Embed True Type Fonts].
XP/03: [Tools/Options/Save], then check the [Embed True Type Fonts] box.
07: Look for the latest version of Microsoft’s “Meaningless Symbol (TM)” which lives in the top left corner and looks like this:
Click this, then [Powerpoint Options/Save/Embed Fonts In The File/Embed All Characters].
10: They’ve changed it again.....
Click the [File] tab (top left), then [Options/Save/Embed Fonts In The File/Embed All Characters].
The embedding fonts option always defaults to 'off' and will uncheck itself at the first opportunity - thanks, Microsoft!
If it doesn’t work (and it won’t with some fonts), another method is to find the font in your PCs ‘fonts’ folder and send it separately.
And another thing - the 'Package for CD' option in PowerPoint 2003 works well, but hidden in the 'options' menu is yet another [Embed True Type Fonts] check box, it's independent of the [Tools/Options/Save] option and, again, defaults to 'off'.
